Kitchen Reorganization with New Pots on the Side

We moved into the new house in May 2024. When we moved in, I was running on fumes. Naturally, I wanted to do my lightning fast unpacking, as usual. But when it came to organizing, I just stuck things on shelves, and called it a day. I was too stressed, and exhausted to attempt to do more.

Now, six months later, I finally decided I should just bite the bullet and reorganize the pantry. I knew it would take me at least a week. I knew it would be a massive pain. But I figured it would be nice to be able to actually find things. So off I went.

45 minutes later, I was done. (Trust me, I was as surprised as you are)

I had also located five, that’s right, five massive bottles of Ketchup. Because apparently I couldn’t see where everything was in the mess and I kept buying more because I didn’t realize I still had so many left. Which is one of the many benefits of an organized pantry.

Of course, I had hyped myself up for such a big job and now I had so much time leftover. The rest of the kitchen had received a similar treatment when we moved in, so I thought… why not reorganize the whole damn thing?

So I started taking apart the baking section. Then the glasses, also, I bought some new pots and pans. Because my pots and pans were a scant collection of odds and ends from our various travels that were terribly scratched and battered. Also, I happened to walk through a Target on a quest to find an incredibly specific cat scratcher for my specific cats and I found a 13-piece Cuisinart set for $200.

Which I thought was rather exciting, because the Christmas list I had given Dan about a week prior had contained a 12-piece Cuisinart set for $300. I also found wine glasses for $50 less than I was going to get them. Maybe I should go into Target more than once every 2 years…

Also, yes, the cats liked the Cuisinart box.

Nova cares nothing for your cooking implements. Give her the boxes!!!

Finishing up the reorganizing now. I will check back in when the kitchen is 100% finished.
